A NYS DCJS certified security guard training school, offers the following NYS mandated security
training courses. All courses are taught by certified instructors.
Start your path toward becoming a registered New York State security guard. This required introductory course must be completed before applying for a NYS Security Guard Registration Card. Learn the guard’s role, legal powers and limitations, emergency response, communication, access control, public relations, and professional conduct. A passing examination is required to receive your course-completion certificate.
Tuition: $80
Build the practical knowledge needed to work confidently and professionally as a security guard. New York State requires this course within 90 days of employment. Training covers job duties, legal limitations, emergency response, communication, access control, ethics, the incident command system, and terrorism awareness. A passing examination is required for successful completion.
Tuition: $120
Keep your required New York State security guard training current. This course must be completed during each calendar year that you hold a security guard registration. It refreshes essential skills, reinforces professional standards, and helps experienced guards remain prepared to perform their duties safely and effectively.
Tuition: $60
Live instructor-led Zoom training and scheduled in-person training are available. Students can select their preferred training format during registration. In-person training is held in Binghamton, NY.
